Murcia Airport is a Spanish airport handling approximately 1.3 million passengers per year. It is therefore one of the smaller airports of this country, but is sill an important gateway for tourists coming to enjoy Spain’s magnificent coastline areas. The airport is found in San Javier, which is the reason for the airport’s second name, San Javier Airport, in the district of Santiago de la Ribera, around 17 miles from Murcia. Murcia Airport has rather few public bus services, therefore many arriving passengers rent a car, from one of the local or international car hire companies at the airport. However, Family cars are also available, such as the Citroen Picasso, VW Passat and Ford Mondeo SW, which is a station wagon with plenty of room for luggage.
