Marbesol Murcia Airport

Murcia Airport is also known as the San Javier Airport, due to its location within this area, and has the official airport code of MJV. It is one of Spain’s smaller airports, handling only around 1.3 million passengers per year, and is mainly served by low-cost airline carriers, of which Ryanair holds the majority of destinations, and accounts for 50% of flights between Murcia Airport and other airports in a variety of countries. One of the best ways to travel in Spain is by rented car, and therefore, there are a number of quality car hire companies available at Murcia Airport. Some of which are international, such as Avis and Europcar, while others are local, such as Marbesol and Auriga Crown. Marbesol Car Hire is often a popular choice amongst many passengers, as they offer very competitive rental rates.

The car hire companies at Murcia Airport are found in the arrivals area, or outside by the parking grounds of the airport. They are all conveniently located within easy walking distance, therefore arriving passengers will not need to use any other form of transport in order to reach the car rental counters, or the actual rented car, of their chosen company. Marbesol is one of the rental car providers at Murcia Airport, and is a local company. Although cars can be arranged directly from the rental counters of Marbesol, it is always recommended to reserve your car in advance, especially during the busier summer months of Spain, when car hire can be in high demand. The easiest, and often most cost efficient way of hiring a car, is online, from Marbesol’s website at www.marbesol.com.

At Murcia Airport, and Marbesol, most of the vehicle categories have a minimum age requirement of 21, however, drivers younger than 25 may need to pay a higher rental rate, as young drivers insurance is applicable to their rentals. This is a small fee charged per day of car hire, and per underage driver listed on the rental agreement, up until a maximum of ten rental days. Younger drivers may also not be permitted to hire from all the vehicle categories at Marbesol, as often those containing larger, or more specialty cars, have a minimum age requirement of 25 years or older. All drivers on the rental agreement should be present when the vehicle is collected, and must have a valid drivers license, held for at least a year prior to the rental date. Most local driving licenses are accepted by Marbesol, but an International Driving Permit is required by Spanish Law, for all foreign renters.

Marbesol customers must have a major credit card in their own name, such as American Express, Diners Club, Eurocard, MasterCard or Visa, and should arrange adequate insurance for their vehicle if it is not included in the rental price. Most often, third party liability insurance is included, but collision damage waiver and theft protection are optional. A renter’s credit card company may provide sufficient insurance, or customers can arrange their insurance directly from Marbesol, along with their vehicle.

Additional services offered by Marbesol may include one way hires at Murcia Airport, hand controls for disabled drivers, and the rental of baby seats or satellite navigation systems. All of the options mentioned will add an extra few Euros to the rental price, except for hand controls, as these are available free of charge. Hand controls help disabled drivers with lower limb difficulties, as they operate the accelerator and brake pedals of the vehicle. The device can only be used on certain types of automatic cars, and should be reserved in advance. A one way hire from Murcia Airport is convenient for customers who will not be returning to the airport, and who wish to make use of another Marbesol rental location in order to return the vehicle.

Vehicles from Marbesol are all divided into various car categories, such as Economy, Medium, Automatics, Family, Minibus and Cabriolet. The Minibuses are Marbesol’s largest vehicles, and are also some of the most expensive cars to hire, but are the best option for groups of travellers, as up to nine people can be seated in the Mercedes Vito, and up to seven people in the Ford Galaxy. If these cars are a bit too larger, families may hire the Peugeot 307 Station Wagon or the Ford Focus C-Max, which also offer plenty of interior and luggage space, and are ideal for up to five passengers. Customers who are unable to drive a stick-shift (manual) vehicle can hire a car with an automatic transmission from Marbesol, which may be similar to the Peugeot 207, Peugeot 307 and Ford Mondeo.

Passengers arriving at Murcia Airport who would simply like a car to travel from point A to point B, and who would enjoy a lower rental price, can hire from the Economy category, with vehicles such as the Ford Ka and Ford Fiesta. There are also ‘medium’ sized cars available, which are similar to the Ford Fusion and Ford Mondeo. All further details are available from Marbesol, at Murcia Airport, or online, from Marbesol’s website at www.marbesol.com.
